One of the 13 football teams which participated in the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930 hosted by Uruguay, France holds a special place in the history of the game.

FIFA says a grand total of $209 million (£171.6m) has been made available for the current World Cup, with that breaking down as approximately $10,000 being paid for each player for every day they are away from clubs.

The trophy stands 36.5 centimetres (14.4 in) tall and is made of 6.175 kilograms (13.61 lb) or 30,875 Carats of 18 karat (75%) gold, worth approximately US$161,000 in 2018.

Made by English luxury brand Thomas Lyte, the FA Cup trophy is valued at €1 million (Rs 8 crore approx), per Guardian. The 61.5 centimetres tall trophy is made of 6.3 kilograms of sterling 925 silver. It took over 250 hours to make the trophy, which is currently held by Liverpool, who beat Chelsea in 2022 final.
